Ghana's Education Minister visited the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) centre to address concerns raised by parents and students over senior high school placements, according to graphic.com.gh. The minister assured families that the issues would be addressed, the outlet reported on Thursday, 17 September 2026.
The visit came amid growing complaints about the placement process. GhanaWeb also reported that the minister toured the placement resolution centre to respond to students' concerns.
The pressure on the system has drawn wider attention. ACI Africa reported that Catholic bishops in Ghana have called on the government to audit the senior high school placement system. Separately, Modern Ghana reported that Kwasi Kwarteng urged the Education Minister not to use the 313,000 applications to Category A schools as a justification for the placement problems. MyJoyOnline, cited by UA.NEWS, reported that Ghana plans to resolve the student placement issues before schools reopen.
